Negation

 

To say never or not ever, put nunca before the verb.

 

Nunca hablo el español= I never speak Spanish

 

You will often use no and nunca or no and nada together in the same sentence.  Meaning-Double Negatives are OK in Spanish

 

No tomo el jugo nunca.=I never drink juice

Los domingos no hago nada.=On Saturdays I don’t do anything.

 

Nadie=Nobody

It is always used with the singular form of the verb.

Nadie toca el piano=Nobody plays the piano

 

 

Quién vs. Quiénes

 

-Both mean Who

-Quién is used when asking about one person

-Quiénes is used when asking about more than one person

 

Examples:

 

-¿Quién es la chica?

Who is the girl?

 

-¿Quiénes son las chicas?

Who are the girls?
