Welcome to Dublin Coffman High School. I am
one of
two Instructional Technology Specialists here
at Coffman.
We, as Technology Specialists, take care of
the voice, video,
and data systems for the building. This
engulfs the voice
mail & phone system, the media
distribution system, and the
entire data network which supports up to 700+
computers
and peripherals. We are also in charge of
staff development.
We train the teachers, administrators and
support staff to use
the technology as a productivity tool. We also
work with
teachers, showing them ways to incorporate the
technology
into the curriculum. When called upon we work
with the
teachers in the classroom on cooperative
technology lessons.
(It’s a great opportunity for us to work
with the students.)
Other projects we run and oversee include
IVDL, Interactive
Video Distance Learning, and VHS, Virtual High
School.
I have been with Dublin as a Technology
Specialist
since 1995. I previously taught high school
students, Math
and Computers (programming and applications).
I also serve
on various committees. They include School
Improvement
Team, Career Team Liaison, Professional
Development Team,
Building Technology Team, District Technology
Team, and
Department Chair. I also organize and oversee
the District
Technology Professional Development Academy.
